Skill Level is an attribute that gives additional level(s) to the skill mentioned in terms of level based work efficiency.

Note that this does not increase your level for equipping equipment or for being able to do activities.

Calculation to Apply Skill Level

  1. The skill level attribute feeds into the calculation for work efficiency.
  2. If we look at that calculation we can see that your skill level gives a +1.25% work efficiency bonus for each level over the level requirement of the skill.
  3. The skill level attribute changes our character's effective skill level and in general grants extra work efficiency.
  4. The rest of the calculation proceeds as normal.

Activity Example with Positive Skill Level Attribute

You want to Cut Maple Trees with a Woodcutting level of 35 and you have a Forester's Flannel Shirt.

  1. First lets look at the case where you haven't equipped the Forester's Flannel Shirt.
    • You are level 35 and the activity has a requirement of level 30.
      • ((35 Skill Level - 30 Activity Level) × 0.0125) = ((5 Levels over Minimum) × 0.0125) = 0.0625 added level efficiency
    • Cut maple trees has a base work amount of 65. 65 ÷ 1.0625 = 62 steps per activity after rounding.
    • So at Woodcutting level 35 completing the activity cut maple trees would take 62 steps per activity if you had nothing equipped.
  2. Now lets look at the case where you have equipped the Forester's Flannel Shirt.
    • You are level 35 and the activity has a requirement of level 30.
    • The Forester's Flannel Shirt grants +2 Woodcutting levels.
      • (((35 Skill Level + 2 Skill Levels) - 30 Activity Level) × 0.0125) = ((7 Levels over Minimum) × 0.0125) = 0.0875 added level efficiency
    • Cut maple trees has a base work amount of 65. 65 ÷ 1.0875 = 60 steps per activity after rounding.
    • So at Woodcutting level 35 completing the activity cut maple trees would take 60 steps per activity if you had the Forester's Flannel Shirt equipped.
