Fishing rods are required for rod fishing. Needs to be equipped to catch fish.
The following are all of the gear and tools that use the Fishing rod equipment keyword.
This is a Banned Keyword and part of a banned keyword group you are only allowed to equip one item with any of these keywords in your tool slots at the same time:

Fishing rod
