โœ… Getting Started

Before you can start contributing, there are a few quick steps to get set up.

1. Create a User Account

To edit or create pages, youโ€™ll need an account with a confirmed email.

  • Create an account if you don't already have one (Create Account)
  • Confirm your email through the email you get, or set and confirm your email through Special:Preferences if you signed up without an email address.

Without confirming your email, you won't be able to edit the wiki.

2. What Happens After You Sign Up?

When you first start, your edits will need to be approved by a moderator. This is a temporary process!
After youโ€™ve made a few approved edits, youโ€™ll become an autoconfirmed user, and your edits will no longer need moderation.

To become autoconfirmed:

  • Make a few edits to pages.
  • Wait a few days.

Once youโ€™re autoconfirmed, youโ€™ll gain more editing privileges!

๐Ÿ“š Where Can You Contribute?

Weโ€™ve allowed registered users to contribute to certain parts of the wiki. Hereโ€™s where you can help:

๐Ÿ›  Gear Pages

The Gear namespace is a place to share and showcase Gear Sets.

What you can do:

  • Create and Edit new Gear pages
  • Document Gear Sets for certain activities for other users to use and import to their game.

As Gear Sets aren't in the game yet, your best option is to use the Equipment Loadout template (Examples/Documentation).
After the general player base can access gear sets, they will be easier to share using the Gear Set template (Examples/Documentation).

Creating new gear pages

  • By default, each activity and achievement page has a separate section for guides and gear pages.
  • Make sure your new pages start with the "Gear:"-prefix to place them under the Gear namespace
  • If the related gear page does not exist, create it and make it into a list according to the instructions (Example: Gear:Forest_Foraging)
  • Next, make your gear set page a subpage, and link it to the list (Example: Gear:Forest_Foraging/Level_1-10_Gear_Set).

๐Ÿ“– Guide Pages

The Guide namespace is for step-by-step tutorials, instructions, and how-to articles.

What you can do:

  • Write new guides on topics youโ€™re knowledgeable about.
  • Improve existing guides by adding more details or tips.

Creating new guide pages:

  • By default, each activity and achievement page has a separate section for guides and gear pages.
  • Make sure your new pages start with the "Guide:"-prefix to place them under the Guide namespace
  • If the related gear page does not exist, create it and make it into a list according to the instructions (Example: Guide:Forest_Foraging)
  • Next, make your gear set page as a subpage, and link it on the list (Example: Guide:Forest_Foraging/Bonez565's_Early_Game_Guide).

You can also make more general guides and link them under Guide:Community_Guides!

๐Ÿšซ Areas That Require Admin Access

Some areas of the wiki are restricted and can only be edited by administrators.

These include (but are not limited to):

  • The Main namespace (for core wiki pages).
  • Templates (used to format content).
  • Categories (used to organize pages).

If you think a page in one of these areas needs to be updated, you can:

  • Leave a comment on the pageโ€™s Talk section.
  • Contact an admin to request a change.
