These are keywords that help categorize the gear and tools. They generally have two purposes beside aiding searching and categorization, also note that the same keyword can be used for both purposes.

The first are "'''Activity Keywords'''" which are a requirement to start an activity. For example, the activity [[Special:MyLanguage/Mine copper ore|Mine copper ore]] has a keyword requirement of a [[Special:MyLanguage/Pickaxe Keyword|Pickaxe]]. This means that you must have an item with the keyword "Pickaxe" equipped to do that activity.

The second are "'''Banned Keywords'''" which are a limit how many of a type of [[Special:MyLanguage/Equipment#Tools|tool]] you can equip at once. Note that this is "banned" in the sense that you are banned from using two at once, not from using it at all. For example,  [[Special:MyLanguage/Foraging tool Keyword|Foraging tool]] is a banned keyword. You are only allowed to equip one foraging tool at a time. If you have a [[Special:MyLanguage/Copper sickle|Copper sickle]] equipped, you cannot also equip a [[Special:MyLanguage/Dull machete|Dull machete]] as they both have the Foraging tool Keyword.
