Guide:Faroda's Guide to Diving Gear

Diving Gear is required to visit any location in Syrenthia, as well as Bog Bottom in GDTE. It comes in three tiers: Diving Gear, Advanced Diving Gear, and Expert Diving Gear.

Diving Gear

• Rusty Diving Helmet can be purchased at Port Skildar in Jarvonia for 500 gold and requires Agility Level 20
• Rusty Diving Torso can be purchased at Horn of Respite in Jarvonia for 20 Adventurer's Guild Tokens and requires Agility Level 20
• Rusty Diving Leggings can be found in Sunken Chests, which are found via fishing; it has a 59.04% drop rate from the chests and requires Agility Level 20
• Merfolk Shell Coverings can be found in Chests of Syrenthia, which can only be earned once you are already in Syrenthia; it has a 34.39% drop rate per chest and requires 1 Syrenthia Faction reputation

Advanced Diving Gear

• Kelp Diving Mask is crafted from two Hardened Kelp, which itself is crafted from two Kelp; you'll need Cooking Level 35 to make the Hardened Kelp and Tailoring Level 25 to create the mask and requires Agility Level 30 to wear
• Kelp Diving Pants is crafted from two Hardened Kelp; you'll need Tailoring Level 26 to create it and requires Agility Level 30
• Kelp Diving Shirt is crafted from two Hardened Kelp; you'll need Tailoring Level 27 to create it and requires Agility Level 30
• Merfolk Dress is dropped from Activity: Merfolk Dancing in Vastalume with a 0.196% base drop chance and required at Agility Level 40
• Merfolk Dance Skirt can be found in Chests of Syrenthia; it has a 4.907% drop rate per chest and requires 30 Syrenthia Faction reputation

Expert Diving Gear

• Hydrilium Diving Helm is crafted from two Hydrilium, which itself required Hardened Kelp and Volcanic Rock (and therefore Cooking Level 35, Mining Level 45, and Crafting Level 45) and requires the player to have completed Underwater Swimming 25 times (which itself required Agility Level 50 and three Advanced Diving Gear)
• Hydrilium Diving Leggings is crafted from two Hydrilium, and requires the player to have completed Underwater Swimming 25 times
• Hydrilium Diving Torso is crafted from two Hydrilium, and requires the player to have completed Underwater Swimming 25 times
• Merfolk Dance Corslet can be found in Chests of Syrenthia; it has a 1.492% drop rate and requires 60 Syrenthia Faction reputation
• Merfolk Dance Circlet can be found in Chests of Syrenthia; it has a 0.399% drop rate and required 100 Syrenthia Faction reputation
• Tentacle Crown is acquired through an unrevealed process.
• Oxygen Tank is a Syrenthia Faction reward once the player has 10 Syrenthia Faction reputation

While all of Syrenthia requires at least the basic Diving Gear, the following requires more advanced levels:

• Underwater Swimming at Elara's Lagoon requires three Advanced Diving Gear pieces (and Agility Level 50)
• Underwater Cave travel requires three Advanced Diving Gear pieces; all Activities require Expert Diving Gear as well
• Darktide Trench travel requires three Expert Diving Gear; all Activities require Expert Diving Gear as well
• Bog Bottom in GDTE requires three Advanced Diving Gear; all activities require Advanced Diving Gear as well

The Oxygen Tank is the only Tool that is also a piece of Diving Gear; all others occupy Head, Chest, or Leg slots. There are two ways to increase Syrenthia Faction reputation: completing Jobs at the Vastalume Job Board or completing Merfolk Dancing which gains 0.01 reputation per completed Activity and requires 30 Agility. Merfolk Dancing is also the source for the Merfolk Dress, the Letter from A.A. collectible, and one of two sources for a Dolphin Egg (which provides bonuses for Fishing activities).
